Her ambition was to create a microscopic and unique world of initial representational forms on a larger scaled canvas. Erica was initially influenced by work that was in the realm of representational imagery. She was attracted to these sources by the relationship of hues, the organic shapes that she had come across when cropping them. She was inspired by the idea of microscopic abstraction by finding forms through magazine clippings and or other sources that interested her. Erica continued to explore the possibilities of these clippings by making collages and turned them into paintings. She intends for the viewer to be able to experience the beauty and magnificence of something they would typically disregard.
